Can a couple get divorced if they were married in a different state?

A couple gets married in Las Vegas, Nevada. They live in Manhattan, New York. After a year of marriage, they separate and the wife moves to Houston, Texas. She is here for 6 months and the husband comes down for a month to try and reconcile. They decide to divorce. The husband goes back to New York and the wife files for divorce in Houston Texas. Do the Texas courts have jurisdiction? Why or why not?

Is it a legal marriage to get married in Vegas if your still married already to someone else?

My friend got married before her divorce was final, and she got married in Vegas (drunk) so does she have to divorce/annullment to the other man or will it just be a voided marriage.

ok freind still married went to vegas got married before divorce was finall new wife knows about the situation 4 years later they split up have a house and 2 cars together they agree themselves to split everything up them selfs she get the house and a car he gets a car and there happy with that the question is was thedivorce really legal? and if they dont ever tell anybody will the next marriage be legal on both parties

My Wife and I are interested in renewing our vows after 13 years of Marriage.
Wife jokingly asked: if we go through with our renewal in Vegas, but later I (me) decides to get divorced for a younger lady – would we have to get divorced in Vegas in addition to our home state?

For example if a girl marries this guy in Las Vegas and is legal, and the guy escapes and doesn’t want her anymore, in the next day, can she divorce him even though she doesn’t know where he is?

Whats rights may be taken away from the first wife if the husband did not file the paperwork right for divorce and went and married another woman in vegas prior to divorce? What happens to my rights if she moves in my house and has her mail sent there etc…the house will always have my name on title. Will she get rights to all the items in the house prior to her moving in? Will I (1st wife) still have claim to all items acquired during my marriage? What should I do to protect myself?
